A Visit to Khelo India Games
Maxfort School, Pitampura promotes the invaluable importance of sports and fitness in one’s life. To revive the sports culture, the school organized a visit to witness Khelo India Games for the students of Class VIII on 7th February’ 2018 in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Khelo India Games is a big step for development of sport talent amongst the school children. Indian Government has again turned up and this time to revolutionize Indian sports. After some successful movements like Swacch Bharat and Startup India, this move in sports is said to be a great step for Indian sports and its future.
The children watched the thrills and spills of many games like archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, gymnastics, judo, shooting, swimming, weightlifting, wrestling, basketball, football, hockey, kabaddi, kho-kho and volleyball. The objective was to inculcate sporty team spirit and develop the awareness about different games which includes strategic and analytical thinking, leadership skills, goal setting and risk taking. The children were overwhelmed and expressed their gratitude to the principal, Mrs. Mona Lakhanpal for giving them such an opportunity which is exceptional.
